Marion Library news Things are really moving along at the new building. It is nearly ready for interior painting. The sidewalks are in place and the parking lot should be done soon. Every week, we make decisions about things like carpeting, paint colors, shelving, etc. It certainly is an exciting time. (Stressful also. I attended a workshop on stress just a couple of weeks ago, and not a moment too soon.) In keeping with my promise to highlight a library service each month, I want to remind you of our Sick Kids' Kits. If your child is ill and unable to go about his or her normal routine we would love to assemble one of our kits for them. Just give us a call, and an hour or two to put it together and voila! Books, games and puzzles for your little shut-in. We are ready and anxious to begin the Summer Reading Program. Registration for 2001: A Reading Odyssey -Adventures In A New Location will be held the weeks of June 18 and 25, during regular library hours. There are reading groups for all ages, including toddlers and adults. There will be Pajama Story Time for preschoolers, Craft Time for elementary age students, prizes, snacks and other fun. The staff at the library is really excited about the summer programs. Please plan to join us in this fun-filled vacation time. Book Sale The Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale will be held June 8, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of the library. In preparation for the move to the new facility, we have many children's books, as well as much adult fiction. Stop by and support the Friends of the Library. Hardcover books are 50 cents and paperbacks are 25.
