Lyons High grads plan lock-in party

A Parent Committee of the Class of 2001 chaired by Sheila Engels is planning a Graduation Night Lock-In Party. The school and committee are sponsoring a drug and alcohol-free party for the seniors following the June 22 graduation ceremony.

It will be held at the YMCA in Geneva, where students will enjoy all kinds of entertainment: games, music, basketball, swimming, food and drinks. Admission is free, but only graduating seniors will be allowed to attend. Students attending the party will leave the high school at 11:30 by school bus. The buses will return the graduates the next morning to attend a breakfast at the Lyons Methodist Church.

Planning has been going on for a little over a month. Donations of prizes to give away are still being sought as well as money to cover some of the expenses. For more information, contact Sheila Engels at 946.4784.

The 2001 Lyons High School Graduation is scheduled for 7 p.m. on June 22 in the high school auditorium.
