Vacation church camp in Sodus 'This year our Vacation Church Camp is taking a break from the heat as we head out on a Polar Expedition,' says Pastor Bill Mann of the United Third Methodist Church of Sodus. 'Our Polar Expedition will provide fun, memorable Bible-learning activities for kids of all ages. Each day, kids will learn songs, play teamwork-building games, nibble tasty treats, dig into Bible adventures and create Cool Crafts they will take home and play with all summer.' 'Polar Expedition is an exciting way for kids to discover that Jesus' love is cool,' says Pastor Bill. 'Kids will join nearly a million children on North America and take part in a hands-on mission project that will reach needy children across the globe. We will conclude each day with a festive Ice Station Celebration that gets everyone involved in celebrating what they have learned. Family members and friends are welcome to join us in this celebration time with a special closing event planned for Friday night.' Polar Expedition begins June 25 and continues through June 29. Explorers will meet each day at 8:30 a.m. at the United Third Methodist Church, 56 West Main St., Sodus to board a Sodus Central School bus that will transport them to Camp DeMolay on Lake Road. There will also be a bus stop at the Sodus Point Methodist Church at 8:45. The day's activities will close at noon and the kids will be returned to their bus stop. A Friday evening cook-out for the 'Explorers' and their families will round out the week of exploration. The Polar Expedition is open to children who have just completed Kindergarten through grade 6.
