Happenings Debbie Leeuwen, at the United Church, is looking for old neckties for a special children's project. Betty Stevens remains a hospital patient. Jay and Carol Ramsey traveled to Ithaca to attend Carol's 45th Cornell Reunion. They visited with classmates and toured the campus. If you haven't stopped by John DeLyser's Produce establishment on 104 in Williamson, you are missing out! There is everything for gardens, gifts, foods of all sorts. You could spend a big part of your day just looking around! The Marion Mail Carriers did a fabulous job of collecting foods for the Marion Food Pantry. Thanks to those of the Marion Community who donated to this worthy cause. Eileen Ballesty's sister is visiting her for five weeks, from her home in Dublin, Ireland. One of the places they plan to visit is Las Vegas, Nevada, with several other stopovers. There are at least 200 seeds on a strawberry. Each seed would produce a plant with different genetic characteristics. One of several theories on how strawberries got their name comes from the days when English children strung berries on straws and sold them at market. In 1992 California Strawberry Advisory Board survey discovered that 'the more strawberries you eat, the more likely your friends, family and co-workers will perceive you as being health-conscious, happy, fun-loving and normal.' Gertrude Collier is a patient at the Newark Hospital. Rod Adriaansen has returned home after a second surgery, June 22, 1912: Marion will celebrate the Fourth of July in a same and appropriate manner. The proceeds of the dinner and various refreshment booths will be divided between the library and the band. June 22, this evening, is the commencement of Marion Senior Class at 8 p.m. (admission by ticket only). Senior Bash immediately following graduation exercises. Paul, Jody and David Bender entertained her parents Frank and Betty Baker of Horseheads, on Father's Day. They celebrated David's 14th birthday and Jody's June 23 birthday.
