Well, we're into Summer vacation... how is everyone holding out? I haven't heard, 'I'm bored' yet, but I have heard, 'It's so hot!' This is summer... we've waited a long time for it, so let's enjoy it.

There will be two Sunset Concerts at the Sodus Point Light House this summer. The first one will be Saturday (June 30) from 7-9 p.m. The Turning Point School of Dance will be showing the art of ballroom dance. What a nice way to spend the end of the day with the sun setting across the water. And you can stay a bit and watch the Sodus Point Fireworks display. Bring along a sweater in case it gets chilly as well as your lawn chair or blankets (and mosquito protection).

Also tomorrow at the Lighthouse, is the Kiddie Parade. Hope you've all got your costumes and decorations ready.

shore The Sodus Point Fire Dept. Carnival is under way - plenty of rides, food, and fun for everyone. The parade starts tonight at 7 p.m. There's live entertainment tonight and tomorrow night. The Wall of Fire will light tomorrow night at 9:30 and the fireworks begin at 10. Then on Sunday, Firemen's Waterball begins at 8 a.m.; there's a chicken barbecue, and live entertainment from 1 to 5.

The Wayne County Raptors will be having a fun filled evening tonight at 7 p.m. There will be Wine Tasting, ten wines from five wineries, raffles, and Piehler Motor Car Company will be giving away tee shirts. Show your support for the team as they play the Geneva Redlegs at Colburn Park, Newark. There will be fireworks following the game.

Happy Birthday to Jimmy Malone who will be celebrating his 30th (?) Birthday on July 8.

fireworks On the Fourth of July, plan to enjoy the day at the Point. You can begin with Breakfast on the Bluff from 7-11 a.m. at the old Lighthouse. (The food is great.) Special events include the Lighthouse 5K Run, with registration at 8 a.m. (starting pistol at 9 a.m.) To pre-register for the race, contact Mike DeMay at 716.381.4812. The first of the Lighthouse Concerts will also be on July 4 at 3 p.m. with Gap Mangione and his Big Band. It is so relaxing to listen to the music and watch the boats.
