Missing Sodus
My animals are always trying to tell me something. Usually I'm not sure what it is they are saying, but this time, I think it's pretty obvious. If I wasn't going to feed my cat she'd feed herself. One of our readers is looking for a book called Quack said Jerusha. It was written in l930 by Mildred Plew Merryman. If you know how this book can be found please write to me and I will get back to our reader. Thank you so much. The winner of the Sodus Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award will be announced on March l0.The banquet is scheduled for April l0 and will be held at the Normandy Inn on Ridge Rd. The price for the banquet will be $20 per person, which includes tax and tip . Many items will be raffled off for the Sodus Chamber Scholarship Fund Benefit. Tickets are $l0 apiece and can be purchased from any Chamber member or by calling 483.4067. The drawing will be held at the Banquet on April l0 . You need not be present to win, but the public is invited to attend. Don't forget - if you're looking for a pretty bird to make your house more like spring, please get in touch with Janet at avitiel@computer-connection.net I have a cockatiel and a parakeet, and the house always sounds cheerful. Of course, when I'm on the phone, people are always confused as to who's whistling. Janet has babies that are hand fed and available at this time. There will be a Friday Lenten Fish Supper at the Fairville Fire Hall on Rt. 88. Supper includes fresh haddock, fried or broiled, baked potato, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls, dessert, coffee, tea or milk . The Fire Hall is handicap accessible and take out is available. Is your life just getting too stressful? Check out the website of the Crowfield Farm and learn about their new Retreat center at 6890 Pulver Rd. in Arcadia. They have several seminars and meetings scheduled at the bison farm. Write down the date: March ll, the Wallington Fire Dept. will have yet another great Pancake breakfast at the Fire Hall on Ridge Rd. from 8 to ll a.m. Did you know that March is National Craft Month? To celebrate, Sandy at the Kraft Shack is going to have several demonstrations of craft ideas throughout the month. Each Saturday in March from ll a.m. to l p.m., there will be something new to see. This Saturday, there will be Glass Etching with etching cream and rub on stencils.
Also, Sandy can be seen doing demonstrations on TV Channel 8 on Wednesday mornings at 6:30 - this coming week,
After March, you can watch her every other Wednesday. (Dates and times are subject to change.) How fun! Good luck, Sandy! Also, Sandy will be having a Spring Cleaning on Friday, March 9 from l0 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. l0% off all merchandise in stock. On Saturday, March l0, you tell Sandy what's on sale. You receive an extra 20% off any one item of your choice. (You must bring in the newsletter coupon to receive your discount. One coupon per customer. Free gift with every $30 purchase.) Sounds like the Kraft Shack has a lot of fun things ahead for Spring Craft ideas. Al Dobbin's daughter, Sue, just returned from Florida and she's probably wondering, 'Why?' (It's tough to go from 70's and 80's back to 20's and 30's. Did you have a nice trip?) If you have something you'd like to share, please write to me at I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great week and keep thinking Spring! We are all pretty tired of the snow. It just gets to be too much after while.
