Auction planned for Newark Skate Park

The Newark Skate Park Committee continues in its quest to build a Skate Park to benefit the youth of the area who skateboard, rollerblade, and bike.

gavel Through the fundraising efforts of the committee, and the generous support of area businesses and private citizens, the group is halfway to reaching their goal.

The committee meets the first Wednesday of every month at the Alex Eligh Community Center at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome.

The Committee is preparing for a benefit auction to be held April 7 at the Alex Eligh Community Center from 7-10 p.m. Henry Kuperus, owner of Hen-Dar's Meat Market, will serve as auctioneer.

The committee is accepting donations of items to be auctioned. Committee members will be visiting local businesses to solicit donations.

Any person wishing to donate new or gently used items or antiques for the auction may contact Gayle Hendershot at 331.2712 or Valerie VanDongen at 331.3628.

Please plan to attend the auction on April 7, get some great items, while helping Newark Area youth toward a safe place to skate and bike.
