March comes in like a Lion

March snowstorm

Locally, we've been on the outer edge of the large snowstorm threatening to cripple the northeast, but it's been just enough to close area schools and empty bread shelves in grocery stores.

Forecasters began the Winter Storm Warnings yesterday afternoon, with travel advisories for the evening.

Towns reported receiving anywhere from eight to twelve inches of snow by this morning. Travel wasn't as treacherous as expected, but predictions of more snow and high winds for tonight have people on guard.

Those further east are expected to bear the brunt of the storm, with some forecasters calling it the worst 'nor'easter' in 30 years. From Albany to New York City, snow may accumulate 20 inches or more, and in Boston, residents are warned of a possible 3 feet of snow and hurricane force winds.
