Mason and Ware artwork is sought

In Praise of Painting, a retrospective art show of the works of Roy Mason and Richard Ware, is being planned for April 28 and 29 in Newark.

Roy Mason, of Batavia, was a nationally renowned watercolorist, who specialized in scenes of sportsmen and waterfowl in natural settings.

Richard Ware, until recently a Newark resident, is known for his paintings of familiar area landscapes, and considers Mason his artistic mentor when both worked in Batavia.

Original works have been promised for loan by local art owners for the two-day secure display, but more paintings by the two artists are being sought. Anyone willing to add paintings to the growing list is asked to call 331.1462, 331.2255 or 331.0442 (evenings) for more information.

The event is being presented in the Fellowship Hall of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and is co-sponsored by Park Presbyterian Church.
