Arcadia Historical Society dinner planned The 9th annual meeting of the Arcadia Historical Society will be Thursday, April 5, at the Newark Country Club. Social hour begins at 6, with dinner at 7. The program for the evening will feature two speakers on 'The Erie Canal - Past, Present & Future.' Arcadia Town Historian Robert Hoeltzel will provide the past history of the canal in our area. Sharon Lilla, Director of Planning for Wayne County, will talk about the present and future of the canal. Hoeltzel will also sign copies of his book, Hometown History: The Village of Newark & Town of Arcadia, published in June, 2000. There will also be a Newark Country Club historical display.
