Engels honored as Woman of Faith

Amelia Engels of Alloway, was honored as the 2001 Woman of Faith at The First Presbyterian Church of Lyons

She has served the church as an elder and a deacon and is a 50-plus year member of the church. Mrs. Engels serves on the property, membership & evangelism committees and is a member of the Presbyterian Women.

The Rev. Cynthia Huling Hummel, the pastor of the church, said 'Amelia exemplifies what it means to be a woman of faith.'

This is the third year of this recognition which is sponsored by the Committee on Women and the Church of The Presbytery of Geneva. In 2000, Helen Santelli was recognized. The honoree for 1999 was Anne Blaisdell.
