Spring is in the air. It's so close, you can almost feel it!

Today, while waiting for the school bus, it was amazing to see how busy the birds are - everywhere you look. The chickadees and sparrows are flitting around. The sound of the geese fills the sky. Isn't it great?

Mark your calendars: the Williamson Library will be having a special presentation soon. The Hill Brothers will be performing their all new 'Reading Show' on Tuesday evening April 3, at 7 p.m. at the Williamson Public Library. This Rockin' Concert to celebrate reading and National Library Week is free to the public and is guaranteed to entertain and enlighten an audience of all ages! The Hill Brothers - Jerry Raven, Dave Ruch, and Judd Sunshine have been performing in New York State schools and libraries for over 23 years. The group features a number of stringed instruments and will perform their second release. Call the library for more information at 589.2048.

Ralph Everdyke and his wife took a trip to Cross Creek in Florida the other day. Cross Creek sounds like a fascinating place, in that it is the little town where author Majorie Rawlings had a home. Her home is now an historical landmark and there is a small park named in her honor, as well. What a nice way to spend a sunny, warm day.

tropical fish Diane Phillips, the new owner of Granny's Cottage in Penfield, is busy, getting ready for a huge workshop she will be doing at the Empire State College on May l5. She recently gave a Keynote Speech for a Girl Scout Function and is making plans to travel to Europe with her husband this spring.

Step out tonight to the Fairville Fire Dept. Lenten Fish Fry from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

Tomorrow, on St. Patrick's Day, there is to be a Party at the Newark VFW - chicken and biscuit dinner with live music from 5-7.

At the Kraft Shack: don't forget the classes are going on throughout March for National Craft Month. And there is also a four-night cake decorating course that begins next week. Call the Kraft Shack and get the details.

If you have birthdays or anniversaries you'd like to let people know about, let me know. There's a great birthday coming up on March l8 - mine! I'll be 26 (yeah, right... if you hear anyone say, boy, she looks rough for someone so young, tell them I'm really going to be 30.)

palm trees I will be on vacation next week, but please continue to keep in touch and I'll be sure to add your events, etc., the week after. (Now, Donna, where are we going again? Somewhere with palm trees? ...Actually, I will be at home doing the same old, same old, and Donna will be relaxing somewhere.)

Please write to me at

Thank you so much to everyone who has sent me e-mail, keeping me up to date.

Editor's Note: I choose not to divulge my vacation destination, Melissa, but if you think about me and wonder, include a palm tree or two and a tall, cold glass of something in a pineapple. It'll be just like you were there (and 26). Bon voyage. - Donna.
