Blood drive at Newark Elks Lodge

The Newark Elks Lodge, 223 South Main St., Newark, will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 27 from noon to 6.

Members of the Newark Elks are encouraging eligible donors to sign up to donate blood on the 27. Volunteer blood donors remain the only source for the community blood supply and the present supplies of blood are short due to the winter weather and illness as well as the increased use of blood for cancer patients, accident victims and people undergoing surgery.

Any healthy person 17 or older who weighs at least 110 pounds maybe eligible to donate blood. For an appointment or additional information concerning the Newark drive, call the Red Cross office 331.3783.
