Marion phone-a-thon coming

Marion High School students will be calling all residents of Marion on the evenings of April 2, 3, 4, and 9, 10 and 11 between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.

The purpose of their calls will be to request donations for scholarships to be given to graduating seniors who are planning to continue their educations at two or four year colleges/schools.

Last year, over $8000 was raised and 25 Marion seniors won scholarships to help finance their college careers. Because tuitions continue to rise and the need for further education continues to grow, we are setting our goal at $9000 in 2001.
