Missing Sodus

hammockWasn't it a beautiful week? The flower trees are just gorgeous. (Are the apple blossoms out yet? The Williamson Apple Blossom Festival starts next Saturday, doesn't it?))

The Sodus Library has received five Gateway computers and laser printer from the Bill and Melanie Gates Foundation. There will be an Open House so you can have a demonstration on May 10 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. (Note that because of staff training, the library will be closed Friday, May 11.)

The Williamson Library is holding a Used Book Sale Thurs., May 10 - Sat., May 12. (Donations are being accepted until Monday, May 7, so take a minute to pack a few books and take them over - please, no text books, condensed books or magazines.)

Happy birthday to Susie Hooper who celebrates her birthday on Tuesday, May 8. I f you have a birthday you'd like to have mentioned in the column, please write to me and let me know.

Ralph Everdyke and his wife, Betty, are back from the South. They began their journey back on April 24 at 6 in the morning and drove as far as Rocky Mount, North Carolina, then headed out the next morning bright and early. They flower pot got to Newark about 5 p.m. on the 27th. They did find the 50 degree temperature to be a little chilly, but the 80's we've had lately are perfect for them, I'm sure. Welcome back, Ralph and Betty - 1279 miles is a lot of miles.

Sodus School News: At the Primary School, there will be a Girl Scout Meeting on Monday, May 7 at 6 p.m. And on Tuesday, May 8, a Boy Scout Meeting. The First Grade will be going on a field trip Wednesday, May 9, and on Thursday, May l0, the 1-2-3 Fun Fail will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. At Sodus Intermediate, Ms. Susat's class will go on a Destination Mars field trip Wednesday, May 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. Mr. Hyland's class will go on Friday, May 11.

At the Kraft Shack on Tuesday, May l5 the class will be making a Floral Wall Hanging from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. In this class you will be making the hanging from a grapevine form, silk flowers, berries and a birdhouse ($28 includes all). Please don't forget to pre-register. (Have you seen Sandy on TV yet? Channel 8 every other Wednesday at 6:20 a.m.)

sunset Auditions for H.M.S. Pinafore are this Sunday at Gates Hall, 3-5 p.m.
