flowersAnother beautiful week wasn't it? Better not put away the warm coats, though - it's supposed to get chilly over the weekend. (Ralph and Betty Everdyke better get out the extra blankets and sweaters... they aren't used to be chilly anymore.)

Don't forget: Mother's Day is this Sunday. All the local stores have a great selection of plants - Grandpa's in Sodus, the Corner Market in Williamson, Poppy's Garden, Mason's Farm Market...

The Sodus Free Library will hold a 'Books Sandwiched In' next Thursday (May 17). The guest is Mayor John Cook, and you must reserve by Tuesday. Call 483.9292.

The Sodus Primary School will be busy: On Monday, May l4 the Pre-K is going on a field trip and then again on Wednesday. The Boy Scouts will meet at 6:30 on Tuesday. Next Saturday (May l9), the Sodus garden Club will host a Plant Sale on the front lawn from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the Middle School and High School, flowers Science Exploration Days have been scheduled. Don't forget the Prom is next Saturday.

Also next Saturday, there's a Chicken & Biscuit Dinner at the Sodus Reformed Church on Maple Ave. Serving will be from 5 to 7 p.m. The Williamson Apple Blossom Festival will be in full swing, too. The Kiddie Parade is Thursday at 6:30 and a spaghetti dinner at the Williamson Fire Hall Friday, 4-7 p.m.

And the Wallington Bog & Grog is next Sunday (May 20), noon to 5.

The Kraft Shack is making another wonderful craft on Wednesday, May 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 - you can make a fountain using a pot, bark, watering can, etc. ($50 includes all - don't forget to register.)

The Newark Raptors Collegiate baseball team will be the Wayne County Raptors this year. As in past years, the Raptors players are looking for Housing Providers who can offer them a bed, a bathroom and kitchen use. flowersr If you are interested in becoming a housing provider please call 946.9859. The Raptors also need community sponsors and financial support. If you would like to help, feel free to call 483.8850. Most of all, attend games at Colburn Park, Newark and support the team.

If you have a special event, please write to me at
