Play reading at Gates Hall
Now living in Geneva, Hanagan is a former Sodus resident who has started to fulfill a life-long dream of writing one-act and full-length plays. He has had a long-time relationship with the Gatesinger Company, Ltd., having been involved in productions with the group since 1971. With play readings, actors read directly from scripts, there is no memorization involved. For this reason, there is a shorter rehearsal time required. The Gatesingers have decided to take a workshop-type approach to the project. Starting at 1 p.m. at the hall, the members will break into groups consisting of actors and directors to read over the scripts and select who is to perform in which play. Each group will spend several hours rehearsing, making adjustments, and critiquing the other groups. The play reading will be performed for the public at 8 p.m. There will be a small admission charge at the door. Any questions regarding this event can be directed to Mike Mulberry at 589.9631.
