On May 10 a group traveled to Lockport by invitation from Isabelle Bushart. The day was perfect for traveling, balmy and sunny. We had a boat trip on the Erie Canal traveling through Locks 34 and 35. I learned that 'Wide Waters' were created for a place in each town where boats could lay over for the night. We traveled under the Echo Bridge and saw the Upside down bridge followed by a lovely luncheon back in town. Included was a trip to a delightful candy store and a tour of the interesting Holland Land Office Museum in Batavia.
