Clean water projects in Wayne County

The Wayne County Water Quality Coordinating Committee (WQCC) has approved ten applications for the partial funding of local projects that will help protect our freshwater resources.

These projects will affect four local watersheds: Great Sodus Bay, the Erie Canal, Ganargua Creek and Salmon Creek in Williamson.

Overall, the WQCC will be funding five septic system improvement projects, four agricultural pesticide mixing facilities and one marine pump-out facility. Combined, these projects will help to protect the quality of our surface and groundwater resources.
