I visited with 99-year-old Hazel McMullin, last week. I found her in the kitchen assisting in the making of blueberry pies which were going to be served the next day at a party. I also found out that she bowled a 101 the week before! THANKS! to all of you who attended the delicious Chicken and Biscuit Dinner at the United Church helping to make it such a success and helping to add funds to their Workcamp account. Stroll for Strong Kids: This is a two-mile walk to benefit the Children's Hospital at Strong. The United Church is forming a team called TANNER'S CREW. Tanner Jansen continues to have surgery every 10 weeks at Strong Hospital. If interested in walking, or making a donation, please contact Heidi Jansen or Lonnie Levan. They are also holding a Bike Raffle. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be held at their Children's Day Picnic on June 3 at Forman Park. Proceeds will go to help the workcampers. Car Wash is planned for May 26 at ADM Services at 131 Main Street Macedon, 9 to 4. Tickets are $7 and the Youth at the United Church will receive $2 to aid the workcampers who are going to Lewiston, PA in July. On Mother's Day, Bill and Carrie Norberg brought their son James William, and Steve and Jennifer Taylor brought their son Jackson Ryan, for baptism at the United Church. Rod Adriaansen has returned home following surgery at Strong Hospital. 'Money is like manure. It is no good unless you spread it around.' Eight Marion chemistry students were recognized by the American Chemical Society for excellent performance in chemistry. They are Christine Brown, Erin Howard, Sara Catalano, Megan DePoint, Azure Hansen, Michelle Wilson, Randy Lake and Andrew Krocke. The youth at the Second Reformed Church is sponsoring a Chicken BBQ on June 11, 4:30-7 p.m. Tickets are available from the youth members or at the door. When you are in Newark around noon time be sure to stop by HEN-DAR'S Meat Market and More, on West Union Street. The best hots, sausage and hamburgs, with fixin's. Elementary School Memorial Day Ceremony will be held today, May 25 at the cemetery at 1:20 p.m. The Marion Museum will be open on May 28 at 10 a.m. for your visit and tour. The present collection now showing, is SCRAPBOOKS. John and Tracy Bliek Pagliuso announce the birth of Brooke Elaine, on May 1. She weighed 7 lbs. 10.5 oz. at birth, and measured 20 inches. Proud grandparents are Ron and Elaine Bliek of Marion and John and Carol Pagliuso of Ontario. Happy 20th Wedding Anniversary Wishes to Rev. Don and Judy White at the Second Reformed Church. MAY 28, 1925: Marion village streets will be oiled again this year, after Memorial Day. Chosen to solicit necessary funds are: Main Street, Elmer Taylor ; Business section, Peter Steyaart; Palmyra Street, Charles Beale; Buffalo Street, Floyd Pire; Mill Street, Charles L. Seybold. Thirteen Members of Marion's American Legion Post and Auxiliary have placed the traditional American Flags on the graves of Veterans at the Marion Cemetery. If anyone has been missed, please contact Nancy Nevelizer at 926.4373. Richards Chapter No. 558 OES will host a 'Mother and Child' dinner at the Masonic Temple on Wednesday, June 6 at 6:30. It will be buffet style served by the Masons. The price is $6 for adults, $3 for children 5-12, under five free. An open meeting will follow.
