Veterans Day observed in Wolcott

The Village of Wolcott will mark this year's Veterans Day with a Saturday evening event named, United We Stand. The public is invited to the park on Main St., at 6 p.m. In honor of our dutiful and courageous military personnel, local merchants and residents will decorate patriotically in red, white & blue. A Christmas tree, adorned with American flags, will be dedicated in the park. The flags will remain on the tree for one week, at which time they will be removed and, along with letters and drawings from our local school children, will be sent to our service people with our undying appreciation for their sacrifices and patriotism.

Following the events on Main St., the Wolcott Historical Society will sponsor a USO-type dance to benefit the Red Cross at the Wolcott Elks Lodge on West Port Bay Rd. Door prizes, donated by local merchants, will be given away. This event is open to the adult public. A donation of $5 per person will be collected at the door.
