Conflict results in two Veterans Day services

When the Newark Veterans Council agreed to change Sunday's parade and events from the traditional 11 a.m., some disagreed with the decision.

According to Fred Pirelli, the Veterans Council decided to change the time so that more people might be able to attend the services. The Council plans the Central Park services to begin at about 1:45, following a brief 1:30 p.m. parade, from the VFW to the park. The ceremony will end at about 2:30.

Because some are unhappy with the time change, there will be a brief service in the park at 11 a.m.
