October fun at Lyons Library The Lyons Public Library will hold after-school crafts on Thursdays at 3 p.m., Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25. The first craft will be a fall banner, the second craft on the 11th will be chenille stem pumpkins, the third craft on the 18th are teensy weensy spiders and the last craft on the 25th will be milk jug jack-o-lanterns. Barbara Bornheimer, programming specialist, will teach the crafts. A game day will be held at the library on Monday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. Participate on game day and win prizes. A fall coloring contest will be held during the month of October. Coloring sheets may be picked up at the front desk starting Oct. 8. Story hour for children ages 3-5 will be held on Thursdays at 11 a.m. on Oct. 11, 18 & 25. Stories, activities and crafts are all part of the program. Cindy Flaherty is the storyhour leader.
