Missing Sodus Another gorgeous week. I hurried around and got the winter coats out (just in case), but then it warmed up again. Ralph Everdyke and his wife, Betty, have gone south as I write this. They felt the chill in the air and decided it was time to go. Today and tomorrow are the last days of the Rummage Sales at the First Reformed Church on Maple Ave., Sodus and at St. John's Episcopal Church on West Main. Also today and tomorrow, you can still catch the Used Book Sale at the Williamson Public Library. (Saturday is Buck-A-Bag Day, 10 a.m. - 2.) The Pultneyville Lake View Cemetery Tours are being held tonight and tomorrow night. Bundle up and take a drive over. The tours will be held at 7 and at 8 p.m. The Myers Twig Card Party is tomorrow, from 1 to 4 at the Church of the Epiphany. Tomorrow, the Cub Scouts will be having a Car Wash at the Williamson IGA from l0 to 2 p.m. (We've been at Scout car washes, have gotten very wet and had a lot of fun.) Speaking of Scouts... It's Girl Scout Cookie time. Be sure to order yours. Also tomorrow, there's a Roast Beef Supper at the East Williamson Fire Hall. They'll be serving from 4:30 to 7 p.m. And... It's Williamson Homecoming weekend. The 17th Annual Alumni Soccer games will be held tomorrow (men at 6 p.m., women at 8). There's also be a Chicken Barbecue at the High School from 1 to 4. Thursday, Oct. 18, the Books Sandwiched In at the Sodus Library will feature Town Historian Richard Ransley. He'll have a slide presentation. Be sure to make your reservations by Tuesday, Oct. 16. Call 483.9292. (Also, don't forget to take back your overdue materials to the Sodus Library during October - no late fees! Next Saturday, join the Kraft Shack for Oil Painting with Larry from l0 to 2. Go spend a few hours learning the Bob Ross method of painting. $40 includes all and registration is required. This weekend go out and enjoy the fall. It's a fun time of year for the whole family, whether its picking out the perfect pumpkin, going on a hayride or taking a train ride to see the foliage. Don't forget the cider and fresh baked doughnuts and pies. There are so many wonderful places in our area to go, and tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day. How about a drive to Burnap's, corner of Lake Rd. & Maple Ave., in Sodus? Or Orbaker's, Lake Rd., Williamson. The Apple Shed in Fairville, or Orchard View Country Market, Lake Bluff and Ridge Rd., North Rose... and isn't it time for Pumpkin rides at the Corner Market? (Route 104 & Pound Rd., Williamson.)
Have a great week. I hope to hear from you soon.
