Humane Society will hold sale, dinner October is Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month and, to celebrate, the Humane Society of Wayne County will have its annual White Elephant Sale and Pasta Dinner on Saturday, October 20 at the Palmyra Fire Hall, Route 31 in Palmyra, Come browse the many treasures of the White Elephant Sale from noon to 7. You will be sure to find thousands of bargains. Bid on the new treadmill donated specifically for this event. This $900 treadmill is being auctioned by sealed bid. Write your name, address and phone number with the amount of your bid on a piece of paper, seal it in an envelope and bring it to the Palmyra Fire Hall on Oct. 20. If your bid is the highest, you will be able to purchase the treadmill for the amount you bid. Bidding will start at $200. Shopping at the White Elephant Sale can work up an appetite, and from 4 to 7, the Humane Society will be serving up its pasta dinner, including salad with homemade desserts. Both meat and meatless pasta are available. Come and enjoy a delicious pasta dinner and help the Humane Society at the same time. Tickets for the pasta dinner are $5 and $3. Advance tickets are available at the shelter, Macedon Veterinary Care, Newark Veterinary Hospital, and Invisible Fence of Upstate New York, or from any Humane Society Board Member.
