Antique Dealers offer historic grants

The Wayne County Antique Dealers Association has announced its Sixth Annual Historical Grant Program to be dispensed to chartered historical societies in the county. The grants provide extra financial support for worthwhile projects. All qualifying societies have been invited to submit detailed grant applications by November 30.

Notification of awards will be made in January 2002.

The total grant allotment of $1,250 may be given to one group or divided among several applicants.

In 2000, awards were given to the Walworth Historical Society, Town of Rose Historical Society and the Red Creek Historical Association.

The Dealers Association, which was founded in 1967, initiated the program to support the historical, cultural and creative life of Wayne County. The group presents two antique shows each year and several public programs on antiques. The 23rd Annual Harvest Show will be held on October 27 and 28 at the Williamson High School.
