Literacy Volunteers needs you

There are 9,000 adults in Wayne County who cannot read. That is 14 percent of the adult population.

Literacy Volunteers provides trained tutors to work with adults to improve their literacy skills. When people improve their reading skills, they improve their quality of life. This benefits everyone throughout the community.

Literacy Volunteers needs people to give their time. All necessary training is provided by Literacy Volunteers.

In addition to tutors, Literacy Volunteers needs people who would be willing to serve on a committee. The Public Relations Committee and the Resource Development Committee need individuals who would be willing to invest a few hours a month to help Literacy Volunteers get the word out about the organization and to assist in fundraising activities.

If you are interested in investing your time for the cause of literacy please call 946.5333.
