Marion plans Heritage Festival

The Marion Merchants Association is pleased to present the return of the Marion Heritage Festival.

This will be Saturday, September 22 at the downtown four corners from 9 until 5, with a Street Dance on Maple Avenue Friday evening 7-11 p.m. Dance the night away with local performers Take 2 Entertainment featuring the best of classic rock and country dance music!

Refreshments provided by the Marion Merchants Association. Bring your dancing shoes (or at least a lawn chair) to enjoy the dance contests and a great show!

Events planned for Saturday include the running of the famous Marion Mile, all ages welcome, first 100 entrants will receive a free Marion Mile T-shirt; Three on Three Basketball Tournament; Made in Marion Tent featuring displays by various Marion manufacturers; Living history display; see authentic civil war re-enactors encamped downtown; Town Jail, have your friends 'arrested' by the Marion Emergency Services Explorers Post 911, Marion Justices will set bail; Music and dancing throughout the day featuring local performers; Irish Dance Troupe from Rochester performs at 11 am; free blood pressure screening at Marion Ambulance display; Talent Show; Siberian Husky Sled Dogs; Library Book Sale; Marion Museum; Craft Booths and displays, and more.

Lots of great food too! The Boy Scouts are back with hots, hamburgers, sausage and more. Marion Legion Baseball Chicken BBQ; United Church Pig Roast; Eastern Star Ladies Reuzel Bollen; Mary Ellen's Famous Fare, and much more!

Be sure to check out the town-wide garage sales, Scooter World Grand Opening (with free indoor bike parking!) and all the various Marion clubs and organizations on display.

Free Admission. Free Parking. Free shuttle buses. Bring the family downtown for a great day!
