Rabies clinics scheduled

learn more!Wayne County Public Health Services, in cooperation with area veterinarians, will be hosting the County's annual rabies vaccination clinic for pets.

With clinics being held at seven different locations this year, they will be more accessible than ever. Vaccination of pets is the single most important step we can take to prevent the spread of rabies.

Although rabies has been established in Wayne Co. for nine years, there are still many pet owners who continue to feed their pets outdoors, to allow their pets to run at large, unsupervised, and make vaccinating their pets a low priority task. If a pet is unvaccinated or overdue for vaccination and is exposed to rabies, they will suffer for their owner's neglect. The owner will have to make the decision whether to have their pet put to sleep or to quarantine it for six months. Either decision is a tough one and your pet deserves better.

If your pet is not vaccinated, or due to receive another vaccination, please plan to attend one of the following clinics.

Donations are requested but not required.

  • September 24 at Sodus Highway Garage, Rotterdam Road, 7-9 p.m.
  • September 25 from 7-9 at Wolcott Highway Garage
  • September 26 from 7-9 at Savannah Highway Garage
