Lyons observes National Day of Prayer

President Bush has declared today (Friday, September 14) as a National Day of Prayer and has urged Americans to attend noon-time services of worship near their homes and businesses. There will be an ecumenical service of prayer and remembrance today at Grace Episcopal Church in Lyons. The service is being planned by the Inter-Church Council of Lyons. The community is invited to gather at the church at noon. The service will begin at 12:05, following the ringing of church bells in the community.

The prayer service will last approximately 30 minutes. The service will include a reading of 'A Litany in a Time of National Grief,' hymns, and prayers. The Rev. Gary Sawtelle, will share a brief message.

An offering will be received for Red Cross Disaster Relief. Everyone is invited.

Grace Episcopal is located at the corner of Lawrence and Phelps Streets in Lyons.
