Art classes in Lyons

The Cider Mill Regional Arts Council (formerly the Wayne County Council for the Arts) is hosting a variety of art and cultural classes. The classes are being held in their new home at the Erie Canal Cultural Center, 165 Water St., in Lyons.

  • Pre-school 4-6 The Eyes of a Child, four Mondays from Oct. 15, 10-11:30 a.m.
  • Elementary ages 6-11 Printing Extravaganza, four Sundays from Oct. 14, 3-4:30 p.m.
  • Animals, Real & Pretend, four Tuesdays from Oct. 16, 3:30-5
  • Home school 6-11 Treasure Box, four Tuesdays from Oct. 16, 10:30-noon
  • Home school 12-16 Treasure Box, four Tuesdays from Oct. 16, 1-2:30
  • Middle School Basic Acting, five Saturdays from Oct. 20, 12:30-2:30
  • Beginning Cartooning, four Thursdays from Oct. 25, 4-5:30
  • Older Teens/Adults Basic Oils, four Tuesdays from Oct. 16, 7-9 p.m.
  • Sketching, four Thursdays from Oct. 18, 1-2:30
  • Poetry Writing, four Thursdays from Oct. 18, 7-8:30
  • Improv, five Saturdays from Oct. 20, 3-5
  • Development: Grant writing & Fundraising Thursday, October 11, 7-9 p.m.

Artists and art teachers will teach all of the classes. The cost for the preschool and elementary school classes is $25 for the course. Middle school and adult classes will cost $10 per class. Class size is limited and enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.
