In memory of those who vanished in the horrific disaster in New York City, those living at the complex off Sunset Drive held a candlelight vigil with the participants grouped in a circle and with the singing of appropriate songs, last Friday, the day of remembrance and prayer.

Family Night Roller Skating is this evening, Sept. 21, 7-8:30 in the elementary school gym. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Your Museum will be open during the September 22 Heritage Festival - tomorrow.

COME, VISIT, and up for one dollar on a chance on the Marion Coverlet or take time to study copies of old Marion photos.

We'll have unique 'Marion post cards' for 30 cents each that have just arrived. These were printed in Baldwinsville by Village Prints.

Get your Chicken BBQ in downtown Marion tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. Proceeds from this endeavor will be used to pay for the price of umpires at the home games of the Legion Baseball team. Support is needed if we want our young people to be able to take advantage of this county-wide and beyond, sport.

Fred and Doris Coisman presented the Ministry of Music at the Second Reformed Church on September 16.

Loretta DeFisher is recuperating at home following knee surgery at the Sodus Hospital.

On September 22, members of the Richards Chapter OES will be serving 'special' Reuzelbollen and beverages in the dining room at the Masonic Temple. They will also be having a 'garage sale' in their dining room. Hours will be from 9 to 2.

Bill and Barb DeWandel took an eight-day cruise leaving from New London, Connecticutt. stopping and visiting at Martha's Vineyard Island, Nantucket Island, New Bedford and Fall River, MA, Newport, RI, Block Island and ending at Mystic and New London, CT. Before returning home they toured Cape Cod. They enjoyed perfect weather and saw lots of boats and scenic harbors.

The Wayne Willing Workers Eastern Star will be holding their annual Roast Beef Dinner on Sunday, September 30, at the Palmyra Masonic Temple. Servings are from 11:30 to 2:30. Scooter World on South Main Street will be holding their Grand Opening on Saturday, September 22. This will also be the time that they do their PRIZE DRAWING.

Check out the Garage Sales over the Heritage Festival weekend. There is a plan to hold one at 4063 Maple Ave., the street by the bank.

I see that work is underway on the erection of the Marion Bandstand. Watch for its display over the weekend!

Rog and Gen Adriaansen returned from a trip to Dover, NH where they visited with their friend Ann Renzi, who is home following surgery.

SEPTEMBER 27, 1951: Marion soccer team won its first league game on Friday by defeating Ontario 5-0. Don Naeye scored three points and Neil Petty scored two.

Heritage Day Pig Roast is Saturday at 4:30 p.m. until gone, at the United Church of Marion, on North Main St.
