Marion school needs volunteers

The Learning Enrichment Center at Marion Elementary is looking for people to help children learn chess or a language.

If you are a chess enthusiast, you could help the 'Check Mate' club. The club would meet once a week (before, during or after the school day). You would teach students the rules of chess and provide hints on simple strategies. Several people could work together in this club.

If you speak a language other than English, or are skilled in Sign Language, you could help the children learn new words and phrases. You will meet with children twice a week for six weeks to teach counting, simple phrases and simple songs in other languages.
