Newark Animal Control Officer snags snake
snake on the loose

This was the scene Tuesday afternoon, as Newark Animal Control Officer Bob Howard caught this 6-foot boa constrictor and placed it into a safe container.

The snake, slithering across a Colton Avenue driveway, was seen by residents who called 911. Howard, along with Newark Police Officers Warren and McIlwain, answered the call.

With no way of knowing if the snake escaped or was released, Howard transported the snake to Lollypop Farm in Monroe County.

Howard can be reached at 331.0637.
