North Rose-Wolcott Scouts to have patriotic Night

Red, white and blue will be in abundance at the North Rose-Wolcott Girl 'Scout Pride in America Girls Night Out' this Friday, April 12.

Activities will include swimming, creating flag pins, guest speakers, games that were played in the 1800's, creating flag T-shirts, flag folding and flying, and snacks. Wolcott Historical Society will have a display. Guest speakers are Ms. Abbey Davies and Mrs. Fergusen, both members of the Armed Forces. Different Girl Scout troops are helping with the activities.

Troop 864 will be leading Games of the 1800's. Troop 490 is helping produce the craft T-shirts done with sponge painting. Troop 99 is providing for the flag pins. Troop 1140 will present the history of the Star Spangled Banner. Troop 1152 will do the Pledge of Allegiance in sign language and teach flag folding and flying. Other Scouts are helping with decorations and snacks. Laurie Crippen is coordinating the activities. Activities are designed to meet the requirements for patriotic Try-It Badge, and Interest Patches.

NRW Girl Scout Service Unit Manager Kathy Rowley has a special treat for Scouts who turn in their Family Share Campaign envelopes that night. Family Share Campaign is an opportunity for Scout families to make a direct contribution to the Girl Scouts to benefit all the girls served everyday throughout the year by the Girl Scouts Seven Lakes Council.

Girls registered in North Rose-Wolcott Girl Scouts are welcome to Pride In America Girls Night Out. Girl Scout registration is available year-round. Contact registrar Amy Shear at 594. 2764.

Other activities in April that NRW Girl Scouts will be taking part in are Parade for America on Saturday, April 20, and Greetings From Rose on Saturday, April 27.
