This special day is set aside to learn about Baptist roots in this country and to thank God for religious freedoms and heritage. Everyone is being encouraged to dress in the style of their great-great grandparents. Hymns written in the 1800's will be sung, and Pastor John DePugh will provide some old-style preaching. Following the morning worship, a fellowship lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., followed by a fun quiz on the 19th century, an old fashioned hymn sing and sharing more information of our Baptist foundations. The College & Career Dept. is organizing this event and encourages everyone to come out, bring a dish or two to pass, and enjoy this step back in history. (Maybe you'll come to church by horse-drawn wagon.) Newark Baptist Fellowship Church is located at 401 Stuart Avenue on the northwest side of town, near the Firemen's Field. If you have questions, call the church office at 331.9633.
