Missing Sodus
News From Florida: Ralph Everdyke tells me his wife Betty will be 39 again on April 24. The weather is warm down in Florida in the 80's most of the time. Ralph and Betty will probably be heading back north again in a couple of weeks, just like the birds of the South. (Except this year, the birds came back and it snowed on them... Ralph and Betty were smart to wait.) Others enjoying April Birthdays: Carol Garland of the Sodus Library today - the l9th; Becky Clark is Sunday, the 21st; and Rachel White is the 22nd. (She has an Earth Day Birthday.) Travel News: Al Dobbin is doing well. He just got back from Salt Lake City, UT, where he visited his oldest grandson, his wife and their three children for Easter. Al's son, Ed and his wife Pat, went, too. (Sue said that her dad, Al, really enjoyed the mountains.) Primary School News: Wednesday, April 24 is Kindergarten Registration from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Math Enrichment Team Leader Meeting will be held on Monday, April 22 at 2:l0 p.m.; Select Choir from 3 to 5 p.m. On Tuesday, April 23, is the 3rd Grade Intramurals (pickle ball); Wednesday, April 24 - 4th Grade Intramurals Recycling Club; Friday, April 26 is the 5th Grade Intramurals. If you feel like getting out and about tomorrow (Sat., April 20), head to the Fairville Presbyterian Church for a Ham and Scalloped Potato Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Kraft Shack News: Tuesday, April 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., you will be making a Sunflower Bird Feeder. Paint, assemble and decorate a rustic sunflower with a tray to feed the birds. $22 includes all. Please register in advance. Mark your Calendars: Sodus Town Chamber will next meet on May 2 at the Stegar Haus. Members hope that Mr. Danzig will be attending to talk about his plans for the Sodus Bay Resort. This will be a dinner meeting and seating will be limited, so reservations should be called in to 483.4067 no later than Monday, April 29. Heritage Square in Ontario has many events at the beginning of May you might want to attend: the weekend of May 2 - 6 are very full of things to do. On the night of May 2 at 6 p.m. is a Kick-off dinner. Speaking that evening are Norman and Nelson Leenhouts, co-owners of Home Properties Inc. and former residents of Ontario. They will speak of their past in Ontario. On May 4 & 5, from 9 - 4 there will be the annual Spring Barn Sale. The barn is filled with many donated items - so come looking for bargains! On May 6, the Barn Sale ends with a dollar-a bag-day from 9 to noon. Also on Sat. and Sun. (May 5 and 6), Heritage Square Museum opens its doors for the season. The eight buildings will be open for guided tours from 1:30 to 4 p.m. each day - and each weekend until the end of September.
