Warning: road crews will be painting

Yellow center and white edge lines on all state highways in Wayne County (and four in Ontario County) will be re-painted with durable pavement markings this summer.

Routes 488, 21, 88 and 14 will be painted with a durable, polyester paint. Crews expect to start May 1, or sooner if weather permits. The temperature needs to be 55 degrees or higher for best results. The project is expected to be complete by the end of July this year.

Upon approaching the moving work zone, motorists are advised to reduce their speed, and obey signs to stay back; avoid passing and beware of wet paint. The lines will be covered with orange cones to draw attention to the wet paint.
