Earth Day plans at Lyons church

On Friday, May 3, everyone is invited to The First Presbyterian Church of Lyons for an evening of activities and music celebrating Earth Day. From 6 to 6:55 p.m., there will be lots of 'hands-on' activities for adults and children in the social hall of the church. At 7 p.m., folksinger Peggy Lynn from Red Creek, will present a concert in the sanctuary. Her songs will focus on taking care of the Earth. Following the hour-long concert, everyone will be invited to have refreshments and continue with the activities back in the social hall. There will be flowers potted in soil to take home, edible worms in dirt, and much more.

The Lyons Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of Queen and Broad Streets, is handicapped accessible. The event is being organized by the Christian Education Committee. Everyone is invited! The evening's activities are free and are made possible in part by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts' Decentralization Program which is administered in Wayne County by the Cider Mills Regional Arts Center. Donations will also be gladly received.

For more info about the evening, call the church at 946.4723.
