Thomas Dewitte was welcomed as organist at the United Church on July 28.

Hilda DeLue returned to her home following a stay at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

Terrie Crane has returned home from the hospital.

HOSE: Crude but effective and totally safe type of scythe, towed through gardens, to flatten flower beds and level vegetable plantings.

August 5, 1954: Marion merchants softball team is second in twin county softball league, with a record of four wins and one loss.

On July 28, the Adriaansen families gathered at the home of Rod and Helen on Palmyra Road for a family reunion. Since they had a pool on this hot day, it was decided to hold the picnic there. Young and old spent time finding a breezy spot and conversing on what their members were engaged in during these summer months. Hosting the affair were Rog and Gen Adriaansen and their children and grandchildren.

Stephen VanGee is moving to Germany with his wife Sally. Stephen's new assignment will be managing director for the SANMINA-SCI Cable Operations in Europe. He is also responsible for a start-up operation in Shenzhen, China. Currently he is overseeing two facilities in Europe, one in Leuchtenberg, Germany and the other in Bela in the Czech Republic. Stephen, a Marion graduate, is the son of Bill VanGee.
