While everyone usually wants to see Times Square I was impressed to be near the same pond Stuart Little sailed his boat on in the first movie. I received a message from Donna Meyer, the Secretary of Gatesinger Company Ltd., letting me know that the Gatesingers have added another Summer Show: The first ever 'Summer by the Lake in the Hall' One Act Play Marathon. The final performances will be tonight and tomorrow (August 9 and 10) at 8 p.m. at Gates Hall in Pultneyville. The performance consists of one-act plays, all written by prize-winning playwright, Jay Hanagan. There are a bunch of people from Sodus in the cast: Nikki Stiokas, Andrew and David Meyer, Sara Blankenberg, and Mike Mulberry. The Gatesinger website has more info on this - www.gatesinger.org - and also has information on the upcoming auditions (September 8) for the next YouTHeatre production this fall - 'Over Here.' Sounds like fun. (Thank you, Donna, for sending this along to me.) The concert at Sodus Point this Sunday (August 11) is The Chorus of Genesee; Barbershop at the Beach. (If you get the chance, say 'Hi' to Al Dobbin when you see him - he is one of the singers in the chorus.) Speaking of Al Dobbin, he went on a trip a couple of weeks ago with his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Pat, Sue and granddaughter Jennie. They went to Williamsburg and had a nice time. Ed has had some problems with his foot, but Al says it's healing nicely. In fact, Ed and his wife are camping with Sue, Jim and Jennie up at Saranac Lake this week. (I'm glad to hear he's doing well.) I received a note from Betsy Wahl, Rob Wahl's mom. She said that he came home three weeks ago and how nice it was having him back home. She said he had a lot to show and tell. Rob mentioned that the temps could get up into the l20 - l30 degree marks. (Betsy said he was a little chilly when he got home.) She said he has been pretty busy seeing all his family, friends and students since he's been back. (Thanks, Betsy, for letting me know he's back home. Thanks also to Rob for being so far from home for us. We appreciate all you guys do to protect us.) Monday, August 12 through Saturday, August l7 - don't forget the Wayne County Fair in Palmyra. You can find Bart & Kevin's Rock and Roll Reading Concert at the Williamson Library today at 2 p.m. Thanks to everyone who sent information along. I love to hear what everyone's been up to. If you'd like to share your news, please e-mail I hope to hear from you soon. Enjoy your week.
