Heluva Good Recipe Contest winners
Heluva Good Cheese Inc. of Sodus, New York sponsored the 2nd Annual Recipe Contest last Thursday at the Wayne County Fair in Palmyra. Contestants of all ages competed in Hors d'oeuvre, Main Entree and Dessert categories for the $100 first prize ($50 cash and $50 gift certificate). The top three winners in each category received cash or gift certificate to the Heluva Good Cheese Country Store. In the Hors d' oeuvre category, Kim Converse of Palmyra won 1st place with her Pizza Rolls. Rebecca Valley of Palmyra won 2nd place with her Cheesy Mexicana Dip. Third place went to Laurie Lee Smith of Palmyra with her Monterey Jack with Jalapano Cheese Dip. Tracey McEvoy of Clifton Springs won 1st place in the Main Entree category with her More Potatoes & Cheese Please. Second place went to Linda Valley of Palmyra with her Heluva Good Ham Casserole. Dawn Levickas of Palmyra won 3rd place honors with her Creamy Potato Salad. In the dessert category, Sheryl Fagner of Newark won 1st place with her Sour Cream Lemon Pie. Second place went to Dawn Levickas of Palmyra with her Amaretto Cake. Barb Hamilton of Palmyra won 3rd place with her Cheese Apple Lasagna. In the 14 and under category, receiving a $50 savings bond, Elizabeth Conklin of Newark won 1st Place with her Chicken Enchilada Casserole. Second place went to Robert Landgrebe of Palmyra with her Heluva Good Pinwheel Wraps. McKenzie Paige Blankenberg of Palmyra received 3rd Place with her Hot Cheesy Pizza Dip. Second and third place winners received Wal-Mart gift certificates. All entries had to contain at least one Heluva Good product. Immediately following the competition, entries were sold with proceeds going towards Fair renovations.
