Wanted: Murderer William Fee

The Wayne County Historical Society is looking for a person to play the part of murderer William Fee in the coming historic reenactment, 'The Trial Of William Fee,' that will be held at the Wayne County Courthouse on October 19.

'The other 54 parts for the production have been cast,' reports Andrea Evangelist, Society Director, 'but I still am looking for someone to play Fee's part.'

William Fee was 25 when he was arrested for murdering a vagrant woman in the town of Galen in 1859. He was described as being short, having dark hair and a murderous look in his eye.

'We are not going to be fussy about the exact age or the murderous look,' comments Evangelist. 'What we really need is someone who is about that age and can stand in the prisoner's dock in front of the courtroom throughout the trial.' The person who plays Fee only has two lines of dialogue.

For more information, call the Society office 315.946.4943, Monday- Saturday, 10-4.
