Newark Scout Troop will celebrate 75 years Newark Boy Scout Troop 138 is preparing to celebrate its 75th year as a unit in the Finger Lakes Council, Boy Scouts of America. Park Presbyterian Church in Newark has been the unit's chartering organization for all 75 years. The troop has been helping young men in and around Newark learn, grow, develop leadership and outdoor skills, and provide service to the community. This Diamond Celebration will begin on Scout Sunday, February 9, 2003. Scouts from Cub Scout Pack 138, Boy Scout Troop 138, and Venturer Crew 138 will all participate in their chartering organization's Sunday morning worship service, which begins at 10 a.m. Later that day, a special ceremony and reception will be held to recognize and remember 75 years of fun, fellowship, and learning. The Troop invites all former Scoutmasters and Eagle Scouts to get involved in this activity. What better way to reminisce about the past than to hear from those who lived it. Any former Scouts and Scouters interested in participating or attending, or family members who can put Troop 138 in touch with these individuals, please call 331.7021.
