I think we've had plenty of winter already this year... hopefully the rest of it won't be so brutal.

The Carriage Inn in Sodus Point has a great way to beat the winter blues - from now until April 15, 2003, they're having a Winter Special. Enjoy a one night stay for two with deluxe accommodations and a full country breakfast plus a New York Strip dinner with a complimentary glass of wine served at the Steger Haus Restaurant. The Carriage House Inn is at the corner of Ontario St. & Wickham Blvd., Sodus Point. Total package $100. Phone 315.483.2100.

Don't' forget the Kwanzaa Celebration tomorrow (Sat., December 14) at the Lyons Community Center, Broad St., noon to 3 p.m. There will be storytelling and many more events to enjoy. The Kwanzaa Celebration is hosted by the Wayne County Multicultural Arts Project. Kwanzaa is an African -American celebration to affirm Universal African values.

Did you go to see the Christmas fireworks last year in Wallington ? If you missed them last year, don't miss them again. They'll be this Sunday (December 15) at the Wallington Fire Dept., Ridge Rd..

Next week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Dec. 18, l9, 20), the Kindergarten will be going on a field trip to Heckler's Tree Farm. What a fun trip.

Save the date: Skiing season has begun at Brantling. The race date is Saturday December 21! The Annual Snow Country Sports Brantling Alumni Race & Brantling Macintosh Slalom. A great traditional points race proudly hosted by the Steinrotters and the Brantling Ski Racing Association. This race will showcase the greatest opportunity to see future Champions at the 'world cup and Olympic hopeful level' right here in our own town! Have you picked out your tree yet? There are many great places in the area to find a beautiful tree for your home and choosing one can be a lot of fun for the whole family. I find that if I put up the tree one day and decorate it the next, it's less stressful. If you have an artificial tree that is difficult to put together definitely give yourself some space.

Our friend Patty in Maui said that the temps are in the 50's this past week which is cool for them. Tom went to Dallas, Texas, which was also in the 50's. (We'd take those temperatures in a heartbeat.)

Don't forget the fun events at the Williamson Library Kids ages 5 to 14 - Make a Book! December 18 from 3 - 5 p.m. Write, assemble and decorate you own book. A great gift idea for someone you love. Staff members will be available for assistance. No registration is necessary.

Santa arrived in Sodus , did you and your family go to see him at the tree lighting? If you have an event, please write to me at
