Gala fundraiser for Sodus Bay Harbor

A New Year's Eve gala fundraiser will benefit the 'Great Sodus Bay Harbor Management Program.'

Harbor Management is an effort to protect and preserve the quality of one a beautiful natural resource, Great Sodus Bay.

Village of Sodus Point, Town of Sodus, Town of Huron, Wayne County Planning, and other organizations such as the Great Sodus Bay Association, and S.O.S. Inc., have pledged money to help contribute to the efforts in receiving a matching grant through the State Department of State Division of Coastal Resources Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.

The projected cost of the Harbor Management Plan is $62,000. The grant application could not be submitted without demonstrating a local funding commitment equal to or greater than 50 percent of the amount of the funds requested by the state.

Great Sodus Bay Association has pledged $5000 to go towards the matching grant money for the Harbor Management Program. The Association is sponsoring a New Year's Eve Gala at Cutters Restaurant on Catchpole Road in North Rose. All proceeds will go towards the Harbor Management Program.

The evening will start out with a cocktail hour, hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting, dancing to a live swing band 'Seneca Sound,' a surf and turf dinner, balloon drop, champagne toast, more dancing and a dessert bar. Overnight accommodations and limousine service are available.
