Artisan crafts on sale Saturday in Newark

The soon-to-open South Main Emporium in Newark is opening for a one day Christmas sale this Saturday (Dec. 21) from 9 to noon. Local artisans, including Wendy Caffee, Jennifer Ratcliffe and Linda Wood, are offering items such as felted hats, handmade shawls, photo cards, specialty baby items, pearl necklaces, soaps, candles and Native American feather art.

In addition, shoppers will find handmade decorative items from around the world. SERRV International provides a market for self-help handcrafts and fair trade goods from artisan cooperatives in countries such as India, Vietnam, Guatemala, Chile and Turkey.

Stop by Saturday at 604 South Main St., for that last-minute find, or to enjoy a cup of tea and conversation with friends.

Look for an opening of the Emporium after the first of the year to include Barbara Thieme's 'Quilting Quarters,' Jennifer Ratcliffe's 'On The Bright Side,' Wendy Caffee's 'Homespun Hearth,' Isabelle Gadjo's 'Treasures Past & Present' and the SERRV International Shop.
