According to German tradition, children would eagerly head to the tree on Christmas morning to search for the pickle ornament that their parents hid in the green boughs the night before. The children knew whoever found the blown-glass ornament first would receive an extra gift as a reward for being the most observant child.

David Crane dropped off at the museum a small tin which once held olive oil, and was from the Sibley, Lindsay and Curr Co., in Rochester. It was called 'Tower Brand.' Guaranteed under the food and drugs act of June 30, 1906.

The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, at the Second Reformed Church, will be held at 7 p.m. on December 24. Come and invite your family and friends.

THREE WISE WOMEN would have asked directions, arrived on time, helped deliver the baby, cleaned the stable, made a casserole, brought practical gifts and there would be PEACE ON EARTH.

December 20 - Friday - Penny Fund Assembly.

Family Roller Skating Party, sponsored by the Marion PTA. December 20, 7-8:30 p.m. in the Elementary School gym. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Virginia VanderBrook is a resident at the Armstrong Senior Living in Newark. Sherwood Johnson is home following a hospital stay. Steve Matteson is back at his desk at the Voice, downtown.
