Concert series at Lyons church
February 17 is a concert by 'Nostalgic Reunion,' a small band with a BIG BAND sound. They perform swing, rhythm and blues, Latin and jazz - music from the 40's to the 90's. On February 24, audiences will enjoy the music of the women's barbershop group: The Seneca Sound Waves Chorus. The group was founded in 1995 and chartered in 1998. The group has performed regionally in Sweet Adelines International competitions. On March 3, Jayson Keeton, a student at North Rose-Wolcott, will present a concert of music for the organ. He will be joined by Kim Sherwin on the piano and Adam Richwalder on the trumpet. Todd East returns on March 10 in a concert called: And All That Jazz. East, a blind pianist living in Palmyra, is planning a concert of jazz and easy listening music. March 17 - folk guitarist Scott Adams will share a program called 'Adirondack Music.' The final concert will be on Palm Sunday, March 24. Classic Brass will team up with organist Molly Hamilton for a concert of organ and brass music. The 2002 Lenten Concert Series is made possible in part by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts' Decentralization Program which is administered in Wayne County by the Cider Mills Regional Arts Center. The Lyons Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of Queen and Broad Streets, is handicapped accessible. Everyone is invited. The concerts are free, but donations will be gladly received.
