Newark Kiwanians' Partners Project
The Kiwanis Club of Newark Partners Project for Even Start was held this past Saturday at the Alex Eligh Community Center.
About 60 children from the Even Start program came by North Rose-Wolcott bus and by private vans to attend the morning event. The kids heard a story and played games, then each child went home with a book and some games.
'The most successful way to improve reading skills in these children is to increase their access to books,' said Kiwanis Past President Ann Sewert.
She and Barb Vickery co-chaired the project.
